• Happy New Year. Wishing you good health and happiness in 1998.
• Congratulations to Sue and Ian on the birth of Nicole, and
• to Alison and Allan for the birth of James on Christmas Eve.
• Congratulations to Mark and Kathryn on their engagement.
• We are sorry that Joanne is so busy with study that she has had to leave BOBS. We hope to see her on some events and would be glad to see her return when she has the time.
• Congratulation to Claire and Alistair on their engagement and they would both like to be put forward for membership. We will vote at the next get together. If you want a postal vote please respond with this note.

Now some possible dates for your diaries:

• The next badminton : Thursday 15^th January. Then fortnightly.
• BOBS Christmas meal : Friday 23^rd January. We are thinking about "Simply Heathcote’s" . It is �30.00 per head upwards so if people think it is too expensive please say. British food in central Manchester.
• Cards : Steph and Derek’s house either Sunday 8^th February.
• BOBS Event : Edinburgh for August Bank Holiday !998.
• Having read the last minutes we are putting up Oasis (like Centre Parcs but in the Lake District) for the end of March or April 1998.
